Part of the Moveck solution

Over the last 15 years, the project Biomechanical ToolKit helped thousands students and professionals in their works.
However, as the computing landscape evolves, with new architectures like Apple Silicon and the need to support unofficial C3D features such as Rotation data, we’re taking BTK to a new horizon with a reboot. This reboot, named Bridge, and supported by Moveck, will preserve the familiar Matlab API, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition for users.

Matlab and Python

Bridge is a free cross-platform library for biomechanical analysis. It reads, writes, and modifies acquisition files, with all functions accessible through Matlab and Python wrappers.

Compatible Windows & macOS

Bridge is available for both Windows and macOS platforms, ensuring accessibility for a wider range of users.

Backward compatibility with BTK

To ensure a smooth transition from BTK to Bridge, we’ve maintained the Matlab wrapper definition, which we also adapted for the Python wrapper.

Comprehensive documentation will be available to support users throughout this transition.

Goals

The project aims to provide simple yet powerful tools that accelerate development and simplify collaboration between teams. To support this vision and ensure long-term sustainability, we used Moveck’s platform to redevelop the new version, which will be offered free of charge without any usage restrictions. 

Our goal is to foster a large and vibrant community with contributions from universities and businesses.

What's new?

We sincerely thank our users for reporting bugs and suggesting improvements. Your feedback has shaped the new version, which now includes several key fixes and enhancements. 

Additionally, Bridge will feature direct access to rotation data stored in C3D file format from markerless system. The output of past, present, and future motion capture technology readable in the same way.
