Privacy policy
What we collect when you use this site, why, and what you can decide about it. Written to be read rather than skimmed past.

Who is responsible ¶
Moveck Solution Inc., Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. For anything in this policy, write to contact at moveck.com.
What we collect, and when ¶
Three separate things, and they are worth keeping apart because they follow different rules.
What you send us in the demo request form ¶
Your name, work email, organization, field of work, country, an optional message, and whether you asked to hear about releases. We collect it because you asked us to answer you, so there is nothing to consent to. Not sending the form means we hold none of it.
What your browser stores for the site to work ¶
Kept on your device, never sent to us, and not used to identify you:
| Key | Stored as | Kept for | What it holds |
|---|---|---|---|
moveck-theme | Local storage | Until you clear it | Whether you chose light, dark or automatic. |
moveck-locale | Cookie | 365 days | The language you are reading in. |
moveck-docs-client | Local storage | Until you clear it | Whether you are reading code examples in Python or in MATLAB, so every block on a page shows the same one. |
moveck-recent-searches | Local storage | Until you clear it | The last few pages you opened from search, so the search palette can offer them again. |
moveck-video-position | Local storage | Until you clear it | How far you watched each video, so it resumes where you left it. |
moveck-token | Cookie, not readable by scripts | 7 days | Keeps you signed in to your Moveck account, used when signing in to Moveck services (when sign-in becomes available on this site). |
moveck-keygen-token | Cookie, not readable by scripts | 7 days | Keeps you signed in to the licence service that issues and checks your licence keys, used when signing in to Moveck services (when sign-in becomes available on this site). |
How we measure site use ¶
We count visits and see which of the pages you visit get used. The measurement sets no cookie and no identifier in your browser, and it does not follow you to other sites. Visitors are counted from a hash derived from the incoming request rather than from anything stored on your device, so there is nothing to carry between sessions.
What it records: the page viewed, the referring page if there is one, an approximate country, and a device class such as mobile or desktop. Not an IP address, not a name, not anything that identifies you.
There is no analytics choice to make and nothing to switch off, because this measurement stores nothing in your browser and cannot recognize you from one site to the next. There is no decision of yours for us to record.
That is not the end of your say. What you can decide, below, includes objecting to a use you disagree with, and that route does not depend on having been asked first.
Who else sees it ¶
A demo request reaches the Moveck team first. Where a partner network covers your country we may pass your request to the right distributor so they can answer you, and we tell you who that is. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Two third parties process data on our behalf: our web hosting provider, which also provides the audience measurement above, and our email provider, which delivers demo requests into our own mailbox. They act on our instructions only.
Where it is processed ¶
Your information is processed in Canada. During a regional outage our hosting provider may reroute traffic through other regions, so processing may occasionally occur outside Canada.
How long we keep it ¶
We keep a demo request while the exchange it opens stays active, and at most seven years; then it is deleted. Your marketing opt-in lasts until you withdraw it. The preferences your browser keeps for this site are listed in the table above, each with how long it lasts; you can clear them at any time in your browser settings, and nothing on our side depends on them. The measurement described above stores nothing in your browser, so there is nothing there for us to keep.
What you can decide ¶
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw a consent you gave, and object to a use you disagree with. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing was. Write to contact at moveck.com and we will answer within the time the law allows.
Privacy questions and complaints go to our Privacy Officer at customer@moveck.com. We investigate every complaint and reply either way.
If you are unhappy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your own supervisory authority if you are in the European Economic Area.
Changes to this policy ¶
If we change what we collect or who processes it, we update the date at the top. Where the change affects a choice you made, we ask you again rather than assuming your last answer still holds.
